They appreciate adding organic matter to their soil and having a bi-annual feed with a fertilizer specifically designed for citrus trees. Pollination Lemon trees are self-pollinating. One blossom contains both male and female parts to allow self-pollination. To help pollinate, you can sacrifice one blossom and rub its interior on the interior of other blossoms, transferring pollen to the right areas in the flower.
